THE WINE SPECTATOR    91/100

"This sports a lightly smoky frame, with notes of tobacco and bittersweet cocoa around a core of lightly mulled cherry, plum and blackberry fruit. The structure is silky and refined, letting the finish play out nicely. Best from 2018 through 2028. 5,000 cases made." (Oct 31, 2017)

"Another beauty is the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes, which checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre that was partially destemmed and aged in older barrels and demi- muids. Full-bodied, layered, concentrated and sweetly fruited, with fabulous notes of black raspberries, garrigue, cassis, licorice and toasted spice, it’s much more classic in style than the Extrait and should be a gem in the vintage." Châteauneuf du Pape Red

Macerated 3 weeks in a pyramid cement tank

Maturation: demi muid (600 L french oak)

Tasting: deep red, black fruits and liquorice

Full bodied, intense and concentrate, complex and fine

Jeb Dunnuck THE WINE ADVOCATE            92-94

"The smallest production cuvée is the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Extrait, and there’s just 900 bottles of this beauty. An uncommon blend of 70% Mourvèdre and 30% Grenache, aged in demi-muids and older barrels, its deep ruby color is followed by rich, concentrated and ripe aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, toasted spice, licorice and roasted herbs. This big, mouth-filling and structured 2015 will need to be forgotten for 3-4 years and will have two decades of overall longevity. " (Oct 2016)
